Q: How do I navigate through your blog to find certain recipes?
A: The "Home" page is a quick picture view of every recipe I have ever posted with direct links to those recipe/blog posts. The "All Recipes" page is my entire recipe blog, which shows every recipe in the order it was posted. On the right side of this page you can find each recipe categorized by food type. There is also an archive of every month's worth of recipe posts, which coincides with the date I posted the picture to my Instagram account. Last, there is a search box at the top right of every page for you to search my entire blog for a specific recipe or key words.
Q: How many meals do you prep each week?
A: I make two recipes for meal prep each week. I will usually indicate what the serving size is for each recipe, but I almost always have to triple, quadruple, or even quintuple recipes to get enough meals for our house. I have a few staple breakfast options, consume the two recipes as lunches, and have a hodgepodge of the lunches and whatever other foods are in the fridge for dinner. I really enjoy the flexibility of coming home and completing my macro goals for the day with whatever I can find.
Q: How long do your meal preps usually take?
A: They can take anywhere between 3-5 hours. It all depends on the recipes I choose. Sometimes I'll choose to make one recipe one day, and the second one the next day. Sometimes I'll prep vegetables and spices the day or night before to help make cooking go even faster. However, pre-cut vegetables and frozen vegetables will always by my go-to options for making meal prep even faster. If I don’t have a lot of time, I will throw something in the crock pot earlier in the day, use my Instant Pot, and/or pick a recipe that I already know is super quick. Also, do note that I meal prep for just about the whole week for my husband and myself. Some people find it easier to do two meal preps, one on the weekend and one mid-week, which would help spread out the amount of time spent in the kitchen at once.
Q: What do you do when you can’t meal prep on the weekend?
A: I order from Territory Foods, a food delivery service in my area with paleo meals. These types of services do seem pricey, but I have found that going out for lunch every day adds up to being nearly the same amount by the end of the week. Also, I try my best to at least prepare one meal for the week in addition to ordering from Territory Foods. Bottom line is, if you make your meals and health a priority you will find a way. Also, if you are new to ordering from Territory Foods, use my referral link to get yourself some free food!
Q: Do you track macros?
A: Yes! I religiously use the app MyFitnessPal to track my food intake and macros. I don’t list macro numbers for the recipes I upload because I have always relied on MyFitnessPal to do that for me. If you don't use that app, I highly recommend it. If you are new to MyFitnessPal I have developed some instructions to help others get started and will gladly share them. If you are looking for more information on macros and nutrition guidance, feel free to shoot me a message - I do provide nutritional coaching!
Q: Are your recipes all paleo? Do you strictly follow paleo guidelines?
A: Majority of the recipes that I post are paleo. However, my main guideline is just trying to stick to whole food sources.
While majority of my diet would fall under paleo, I do eat foods like oats, rice, honey and other whole food sources that are not always considered paleo. I also try and stick to being gluten-free and dairy-free as much as possible as a personal choice.
Q: Where do you find your recipes?
A: Everywhere. I started from reading a couple of blogs, which quickly turned into a lot of blogs and a lot of paleo books. I also exchange recipes with friends all of the time, so many recipes are recommendations from friends. With that being said, if you ever have a recipe you want to share, please do!
